New Years Eve and New Years Day

NEW YEARS EVE ended up being a quite one. We planned on going to dinner and hanging out with some friends and bringing it in with dinner and an outing but had to cancel the day of due to Ryan being sick. He got sick Monday night and by Wed night was dealing with a full blown cold. So we did New Years Eve with style and ordered Pizza, breadsticks, and Good old Henry rootbeer. I had Ryan take a picture before I disected the pizza from it's cheese to not gross anyone out( Ryan did not want me to take a picture of him since he did not feel well!) We then attempted to watch Walk the Line( Ryan needed his head to be rubbed while we watched the movie cause he did not feel well, oh wait that is how it is all the time! :) Half way through our movie the DVD/VHS we have had over five years called it quits on us!!! I swear 2009 needed to come and come fast! We finished watching Law n Order and woke up to fireworks all around our house! Gave each other a hug since no kissing due to me not wanting to get sick and called it a night!!!!

NEW YEARS DAY is of course a football day when you are a Wennerlind. I have acutally gotten into football this year ( if you can't beat it, then join it right?) I took the left over ham and hambone and made Homemade Ham Hock soup! I know, I am getting into this domestic role! I also bought Ryan's favorite snacks and again sat down with Henry and enjoyed watching the Rose Bowl and having the PAC 10 go 5-0 in the bowl games! Ryan was a happy boy! I then asked if he could venture outside for a bit with me. I had wanted to go to the temple and walk around the lights! He said yes and we went to the Mesa Temple and walked around and looked at the beautiful lights and sat and talked. Ryan and I spent a lot of time at the SLC temple while we were dating and I feel our relationship grew very strong by doing that. It was nice to be with him there on temple grounds again. I love the palm trees, they look like fireworks
The camels looked so cool
I look horrible but the only one of us together since we both hate to ask people to take our picture!

It was a nice getaway from the things of the world and just sit and be with one another. I always like to talk about goals for the following year and talk about what we want to work on as a couple and what I want to work on for me, cause I have a lot to do! As we walked back to the car hand in hand I couldnt help but feel renewed and ready for a new year and a new start and a new ATTITUDE. I look forward to this new year as we work together on our goals as a couple and as individuals. I hope that this year brings many good things to all of you!

Hey Karmann, I'm so glad you left a comment on our blog. I so enjoyed talking to you at the cook off too and meant to give you guys a call to get together sometime but got busy with the holidays. We do need to stay in touch. We can't let ward boundaries get in the way of friendship right? What day do you go to my neighbors? I'd love you to stop by and say hello before or after. Do you have my number and e-mail?

I'm totally laughing with the memories of watching you eat pizza, totally forgot about that!!! LOL
I'm sorry Ryan's sick and I also thought your comment about rubbing his head was hilarious, isn't that every guy???
I totally thought the picture with the palm tree's were fireworks and figured you guys went out until I read your post. Temple grounds are just beautiful with all the many lights, what a great thing to go do together! I'm so impressed with the soup you made, you are turning quite domestic! You know what the means right, that means your preparing yourself for being a mommy and I know 2009 will bring great blessings to you guys! I love you and Happy New Year!

I'm glad you were able to have a good talk with your hubby and set some goals. Good luck with everything in this new year! Love you!

What a bummer Ryan got sick! Sometimes it's nice just to get to spend some one on one time together though too. I feel like Austin and I miss out on that a lot with all our family around. And, you win the wife of the year award for watching football...especially if he chooses not to take you to certain games! :)

Hi Karmann,
Your hubby was @ the Cardinal's game with us last weekend and being a typical guy, he left the camera in the car! Lucky for them, I had mine! Leave me a comment w/ your email address and I'll send you the pics from the game!
