Wyatt Comes All the Way from Pullman

When Ryan and I were first married we lived in SLC and his cousin Amy and her husband James lived in Provo. They had the cutest, smartest, sweetest little baby boy named Wyatt. We all know how Ryan is with children and this little boy bonded with Ryan as a little baby and has had Ryan on a pedal stool his whole life. He is now 6 years old and even though we don't live by one another anymore he still calls Ryan, talks about Ryan and wants to be just like Ryan.

A month ago we got a special visitor. Wyatt came all the way from Pullman Washington to visit us for a little bit. His class did a special project from the book Flat Stanly. He made a self body portrait and had to choose his favorite person to send him to visit. He of course picked Ryan. Lucky for Wyatt that same week that we got him we were taking our trip to Las Vegas and got to take Wyatt all over with us. Here are some of the adventures that Wyatt got to do with us!!!!

We started the trip out at the Hoover Dam- So funny cause everyone was starring at Ryan and looking at us like we were crazy! I love Ryan's smile!



We then headed to the Strip. Everyone kept commenting about our flat Stanly or who is that. Ryan got the hang of it and was like it's my cousin! It was cute!






We then celebrated Easter with him too.


He also got to go to work with Ryan


We put a journal together and printed out the pictures along with post cards and maps for him to show and tell his class. We are excited for him to get everything and for him to tell us how it goes at school. Ryan was so honored to be picked to do this for him! It was such a fun time having Wyatt with us. We love you Wyatt!!

Ok that is so funny! What's crazy is that when I use to teach we did the same Flat Stanley project. Only the Stanley dolls my kids sent weren't life size. I think the life size makes it funny though. I am sure Wyatt will be excited to show his class what you guys did for him. You 2 are just too cute!

Vegas looked like fun! And what a cute kid! Wyatt will probably be the coolest kid in class after he shows his pictures! Good thing I wasn't asked to do this... it would be like "here is flat stanley sleeping in bed. here he is sitting in a chair. here he is back in bed." haha! Thats my exciting life!!
Hopefully we can do something fun tomorrow!!

You guys are awesome to do that! I remember my friend's daughter had the same project (but it was not life-sized - thankfully) and we took Stanley all over Chicago. The looks and comments are great, aren't they?!!

Karm, that is so awesome and what a great thing for a kid to do!!! I love the big smile on Ryan's face with every picture he took with Wyatt! Looks like you guys had a blast! You guys are just so cute, what a darling couple you make.
Karm, what is the picture of you in front of all the glass with things dripping down???

Last week I was home doing some work before I had to leave for a Home Visit. I was siting on my couch when I hear someone on my back porch moving our chairs around. I thought it was Ryan since sometimes he comes in from the back when he puts his tools and ladders away. Except after this man gets the chair he places it in the corner by our french doors and sits down! My heart starts to beat and I go to the front to see if Ryan's truck is outside. This is really LONG and sorry mostly words but those of you who like to read my spiritual posts continue on because this is a big one! Just before Christmas Ryan and I were told about a possible adoption opportunity. We had talked about adopting in the past but had not done anything about it due to well.............. I cant really say. With this new opportunity of, just by chance my waiting to be a mom could be over, brought lots of emotions of excitement, joy, worry, anxiety, hope, and so many more. We needed to get our acts together right away in the process since the potential birth mom was due in May. Ryan's mom has a dear friend working for LDS services here in Washington and got us set up right away to get started on all the paperwork, online stuff, and going about getting all the background checks and homestudy done. BIG CHANGE

So I was asked a couple of weeks ago to teach a class for Enrichment on: HOW to CREATE a SAFE BLOG I had been fighting the feeling of putting my blog private for sometime now. I am a little lazy and haven't wanted to take the extra time to get everyones email and then go through the process of changing things over but the time has come TO MAKE A CHANGE! I do use my blog to share my life and all aspects of it.
