Monday Aug 3rd- Downtown D.C-Day 1

The next morning we got up early and headed to downtown on the Metro System. We stayed with my good friend Deb from Utah State in Bethesda! She was so nice to open her home up to us. Her husband showed us where to park and get on the Metro and off we went to see the sights! We did so much walking and saw a lot but it wore me out!

We started out our day at the Washington Monument and worked our way around!

Lincoln Memorial from the Washington Monument

WWII Memorial- pretty special since both my dad's parents served in this war!

Reflection Pool from both sides: Ryan looking towards Lincoln and I looking towards Washington Monument. A really long Pool!

Lincoln Memorial

Vietnam Memorial- The whole wall was covered with names of loved ones that were lost!

White House

The protestors outside and Ryan reading what they have to say

The Holocaust Museum was AMAZING!!! You werent allowed to take pictures in the four floor exhibit but did let you take a picture of the memorial flame. As a young girl I loved learning about WWII and the Holocaust. If you ever make it to DC and you do the museums this is a MUST see! It was very moving!

The Smithsonium Castle Museum and the treasure inside.

Museum of Air and Space

End of Day one! Tired yet? :)

You're so lucky to have a husband who loves ya like that. SO happy that you're happy. I've had that experience so many times where even though I have suffered a serious setback of some sort, the spirit just floods over you and seems to be literally holding you up. You deserve the most beautiful of things in life Miss Karmann, as beautiful as you are inside and out.
